We at SplitsDrinks love a celebration, and what a smashing one this one is! In this week’s blog we are celebrating World Cocktail Day! On the 13th May 1806 the very first published definition of the word cocktail appeared in The Balance and Columbian Repository, defining the “cock-tail” as “a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters”.
Not only the food you consume can be organic but the drink you enjoy can be organic too. There are a few myths and misconceptions surrounding the organic spirit including the dreaded hangover. It is important to start looking towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices of farming, eating and our general lifestyle. So in this week’s blog we will help clear up any preconceived ideas you may have.
You may have noticed the bottles in the shop looking tall and magnificent like towering skyscrapers. Once the wax seal is cracked the spirit that embraces you is tantalising and smooth with the delightful caress of aromas and flavours. A spirit made from a sweet potato you may ask? In this week’s blog we meet Garry Smith the Founding Director to discover more.
